New location offers specialized education, therapeutic services for children ages 3 to 11 with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities  

(Cherry Hill, N.J.) – Bancroft, a regional leader in specialized services for individuals with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities, has opened a new, expanded Preschool & Early Education Program – just in time for the Extended School Year.  

Located at 101 Executive Drive in Moorestown, the new facility has enabled Bancroft to expand access to its all-encompassing educational program to a greater number of children ages 3 to 11 with autism and intellectual disabilities.  

The Preschool & Early Education Program supports students whose unique educational needs require a specialized school environment. The program emphasizes an individualized approach to learning based on the needs of each student, and incorporates academic, social and physical development with evidence-based behavioral, medical and emotional support.

“When a student’s complex behavioral or medical needs become barriers to traditional learning, school districts throughout our region rely on schools like Bancroft to provide the best possible learning environment for students with special needs,” said Dennis Morgan, Bancroft senior vice president for Children’s Services.

“As autism rates continue to rise, so, too, will the demand for specialized education services. What families appreciate most about Bancroft’s educational model are integrated therapies that address students’ distinct needs and help them learn life skills that go beyond the classroom, to truly help them flourish — and impact not just the child, but the whole family.”

The move also expands Bancroft’s footprint in Burlington County. The Bancroft Welsh Campus in Mt. Laurel, which opened in 2018, is home to the flagship Bancroft School and Children’s Residential Campus, and the Lindens Center for Autism. This proximity will create a more seamless experience for Bancroft’s youngest students, including easy access to swim safety instruction and other amenities on the Welsh Campus, and create greater opportunity for transitional programming for students preparing to graduate to the Welsh Campus. 

The school will be able to serve approximately 65 students, with enhanced programming enabled by the added space. Highlights include: 

• An autism-friendly design with wide hallways, large classrooms and plentiful recreational space informed by the success of the Welsh Campus. 
• Expanded curriculum for in the areas of life skills, water safety, health and physical education and creative arts.
• Integrated clinical treatment by experienced and credentialed clinicians, including ABA, Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy. 
• Integration of technology and staff to empower student communication, engagement and participation. 
• Expanded collaborative learning opportunities for parents, children, educators and the community.
• Peer-to-peer social skills and enhanced transitioning skills development, and a new transitional program for 11-year-old students who will graduate to The Bancroft School.
• Planned community outings and experiences to further develop social skills and enhance learning.

Bancroft currently serves children from school districts throughout New Jersey, the region and the country, focused on teaching and supporting children who need specialized services and therapies.
